Tony Castro took part in a day's conference at the National Geographic Society organised by Boat International. The focus was on discussing how yacht owners might offer their yachts to scientists to carry out small reserach expeditions of say 1 to 2 weeks. Tony commented, "Several Scientists were present and it was interesting to hear what they wanted to do and what equipment they needed. Often not a lot!  I think this is the same idea as "Seakeepers"  has done in the US for a number of years. Sounds good and interesting for the yacht owners and not very onerous."

Tony Castro Yacht Design is developing a 75m Expedition quasi-yacht so he was very interested to talk to these scientists.
